Gynecomastia is enlargement of male breast it may be due to accumulation of the fat or the enlarement of gland itself

Gynecmastia in india presents mostly in the young population between 16 to 30 years.

Common symtoms include

  • Pain in the breast

They may feel ashamed in a social gathering or when in a beach due to abnormal contour

It is divided into 3 grades with 2ndgrade further divided into 2 subtypes.

Grading is based on how it is near to female breast contour.

Except in higher grade of 2c and above most of them are physiological.

With proper diet and exercise you may reduce the prominence but requires lot of your effort and time.

Higher grades need to be evaluated for not only breast malignancy but also for testicular failure

Is there any treatment other than surgery or is it must to undergo gynecomastia surgery ?

Yes surely there are medication which help to arrest the further progresson and to reduce the pain most commonly used medication are antioesrogen molicules which has other significant effects thus used rarely

Only proven treatment is liposuction and gland excision

Advantages of surgery

· Liposuction alone is an effective treatment for gynecomastia in many cases

· Male breast reduction can also treat puffy nipples

· Most patients return to work or school in less than 1 week

· Results are typically permanent, but can be affected by weight gain or certain medications

Treating Gynecomastia with Liposuction

I treat a growing number MAJORITY of gynecomastia patients using liposuction. This is due in part to advances in liposuction technology, which have resulted in a wider selection of this less invasive techniques.

The procedure for treating gynecomastia with liposuction is typically performed using local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, and involves a small incision on each side of the chest. Through these incisions excess fat and/or glandular tissue is removes and simultaneously sculpting a new chest contour that looks natural to your body.

The recovery process following liposuction is smooth and complication are unheard of in my practice. Patients are often given a compression garment to wear for the first few weeks after surgery; this helps to minimize swelling and offers support to the healing tissues. While vigorous exercise is typically off-limits for about 3 weeks, many men return to work or school within several days after their procedures. However, it is important to understand that everyone heals at a unique pace thus we will give you individualized instructions for recovery.

Cost of gynecomastia treatment

Cost in Bangalore range from 35000 to 50000 based on expertise of surgeon technology used for contouring

Don’t fall prey to online ads and promotion

Mostly they are form aggregators who offer various schemes and benefits

My honest suggestion is meet a qualified plastic surgeon personally

Make sure he is the decision maker not any marketing person

Discuss freely all your concerns

Make sure as all the available technology at his disposal to give best result such as VASER, Power assisted devices and RF and cavitation devises at his disposal for best long term results

Surgery is not not mandatory in every body it is purely cosmetic procedure which no proven result of reduced cancer risk or other benefits in long run
